You guys are the best. Thanks for the input!
Sounds like if it does somehow mess with an amp/crossover negatively it would either be a fluke, or something else is wrong.
@4thtry Yeah thinking of using PM180 sealed in 5liters. F6 estimated ~109hz.…

Dang that's a nice simple idea.. Beats the hell out of my sheet of paper folded into thirds for 30/60deg and in half again for 15/45deg. Then eyeballing it ;) .

Some quick woops for funzies. I didn't get all the measurements I need/want so I'll remeasure later. Interesting to see that 6-7khz trough is gone and instead is a much smaller deep suckout at 6k (pre smoothing).
Probably need some off …
Not to muddy up the thread, but after some trial and error I was able to get ahold of someone at ESS. I sent my measurements along with info on the measurement setup. They offered to send out a replacement tweeter, or diaphragm with instruction on …
Kindof reminds me of the inverse of an issue zaph had on his earlier measurements... The fundamental on the graphs would exhibit valleys at intervals on his distortion measurements.
Oof, I have yet to muster up the gumption to try a standard 90deg miter on a box let alone doing it 8x on one enclosure. Then the glueup I'm envisioning something similar to herding cats.

Yeah seems some folks forget this is a hobby and different people have different lines between leisure and work. For me if it gets too complicated I stop having fun. Then it's like I'm still at work. And I'm a work to live, not live to wo…
I was forced off PCD too a while ago. I switched to WinPCD. It's acoustic offset method is nice and easy to work with for getting reasonable results with only a handfull of measurements.
Guys get some awesome results with ViituixCAD but they need…

That's gotta be what they use in Chipotle guac. That is the best damn guac I've had and I just can't quite put my finger on why.
My BP might be lower if I could get ESS to respond to an email. I'll probably try to call tomorrow on my lunch…
Have you seen how folks can try to use a thickness planer as a jointer by shimming the piece against another flat board? I'm wondering if you could do something similar on the table saw.
Attach the enclosure shell (curved side down) on a sacrifici…

Continued working with battery drill and flashlight on one of the speakers. Predrilled the screw holes and trimmed some thin hobby sheet foam as a giant gasket. Front is now buttoned up enough for testing. Just need power back to run some …
Drilled screw holes in the baffle board and screwed one of the drivers in. Then a car hit a nearby power pole and probably out of power the rest of the day.
I just think it is BS that I can spend that much and they are perfectly fine to let me pay $72 shipping to send me junk (was the cheapest shipping option). Reading their return and refund policy I can see I've made a big mistake. They have zero sk…

Interesting to see the progression of sophistication in diaphragm design. I initially thought the mesh was some sort of grill. Now I'm thinking it is likely fiberglass that is glued to the tips of the pleats to …
I understood yours are older versions. When searching around online I thought I had seen plots that look pretty identical to the blue line. With the typical 800hz resonance. The green line.. not so much. I just don't want to be dealing with a fa…

I don't realy have experience with AMTs yet. Please someone tell me this is nothing to worry about because I'm on the edge of being rather annoyed.
