Steamboat shows a base of 31in. I’m thinking less in many areas. We live a bit north and we probably got 12in on Tuesday alone. 11 of 23 lifts open, 36 of 181 trails, and opening quickly from this point forward.
Helmets are still Darwinian, got a bit more thinning out the herd…
Looks like they have the ice, I mean snow, machines going full blast. There are a few ski hills within 1.5 - 2 hours of here (Devil's Head, Cascade, Chestnut, and Sundown). I skied one of those every winter weekend in high school. Then in college we skied in Colorado. Pretty much ruined midwest skiing for me

There's a rinky-dink ski hill about an hour north of Des Moines and it is also white.

It's currently 17 so plenty cold to make snow at Seven Oaks.
