For what it’s worth, I’ve used several Dayton plate amps connected using the high level inputs and never noticed any SQ issue. If I have an RCA sub out I’ll use it, but if not high level seems fine to me. YMMV.
Not to go off topic too much, but we have a Harley dealership in town. The only Harley dealership in Monterey County in fact. Do they sell motorcycles? No. No motorcycles. T-shirts, leathers, mugs, key chains, etc. No bikes, just merch.
Rightly or wrongly I have always thought of McIntosh like the Harley Davidson of audio. Big. Heavy. Expensive. V-twin rumble = Blue meters dancing. Cult followings. For years I lusted after a Mac amp, but I got over it. Now, they have completely los…
That would be a very nice implementation- the low sensitivity almost requires multiples. Four in a series/parallel might be around 83db? https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/driveunits/tectonic-elements-tebm35c10-4-miniature-bmr-driver/#:~:text=The%20TE…
I’ve been wanting to play around with those little tectonic bmr drivers for awhile. The 2” are $7.98 ea. at PE, down to $6.70 quantity 4 or more. With the THANKS24 15% code, $5.70 each. So I got 14 and a few other odds and ends toget free shipping.
Saw him live at least 100 times. What a sound. He played a six-string, and used a pick. Some big ass amps, and a bunch of 18’s. He could drop bombs. So much fun.
Hemi fun fact- 426 Hemi was rated by factory at 425 h.p. at 5,000 rpm. But, it did not make peak h.p. Until over 6k, at which point was more like 500. 😁

And, because I need more drivers like I need a hole in my head, I just ordered two GRS poly subs 13.99 each and a 10” Max for 84.98 and applied the 10 percent off coupon on top of that. 🙄

Cool! The ‘69 was my grandfathers “98” a land barge for sure but the 455 4 barrel, 10.25:1 compression it could really move. A hand me down, They thought it would be a “safe” car for me at 16 y.o. OMG - with a 2.56 rear end I got it up to 13…
Thanks, if only I still had them lol. The Buick GS was sweet. It belonged to the grandmother of a kid down the street. I bought it for $1,200. Was all original and pristine with 49k miles. Of course in 1982 a lot of ‘gas guzzlers” were still around …
OK, I’ll go. I think I’ve been on MAC for about a year, so kinda new. My name is Tom Hannah. I am “cooper” over on PETT since ‘05, more of a lurker than a poster. I am 59 yo, lived in CA my whole life. My grand mother on mother’s side was from the I…
