So rather than buy speakers for $80, throw out both the woofers and tweeters and then spending over $200 dollars on drivers, can you recommend some complete speaker kits for about $250? (I know - this is what you do...!)

Seems like an awful lot of time and money to put into a crappy cabinet. As I said earlier, you can for almost no money, brace and dampen these cabinets to get tons of bass out of these.
