Fun times at the ranch tonight. Had to extract a BBQed ground squirrel from the dryer inlet. 2nd time in the last 5 years. On the bright side, it did give me a chance to clean out all the gunk in the duct work and deep inside the lint trap.
I don't own any McIntosh gear, but I've heard they are more than happy to help keep their legacy pieces running. If you crack the faceplate glass or need a replacement transformer, they still supply the parts. I'm sure they make a pretty penny on th…
Interesting to learn that Bose just bought the McIntosh Group. I had read just last week that at least two of the bigger groups were looking to sell off some of their well known brands. Sad to think Pioneer may go the way of other iconic brands of t…
I must be the only one who doesn't really care for PF. I do appreciate the sonic aspects, but I could never get into the actual music. But I feel like that about a lot of music, even the current Indy-Folk stuff.
I have a pair of the woofers already, so I ordered the tweeters and a few crossover parts for these. Not sure when I'll get to them, but it'll be a good project for one of the coming cold winter weekends.

I started into this hobby using Speaker Workshop. XSim is very similar, so it's what I gravitate to. I sometimes check things like target slopes in WinPCD, but that's pretty rare. I haven’t taken the dive into Vituixcad yet. It looks powerful, but …
I forgot about the Koss cans I have at work. A steal for $40. They look like cheap crap from the 80s, but actually sound pretty decent. I can hear when the phone rings and they are so light you almost forget you have them on.

I had no idea they made spicy sirloin burger. I don't venture into the grocery store very often. My wife will be out of town for a week starting tomorrow, so I'll look for it when I'm at Hy-Vee this weekend.
For home use, I like my Sennheiser HD-600s, but I wish they had a little more bass. At work I have some KRK KNS-8400s in my camera bag. They sound fairly flat and have proven to be very road-worthy!
Yeah - guess I can't complain considering the price. I have all of $12 in wood for this build, even after the mistake. The last time I bought cabinet grade BB, it was from an actual lumber yard probably 20 yrs ago. I think it was $55/sheet for the b…
Yeah - that's what I get for not measuring the width of all of them the first time. Just a minor setback - they’re in clamps after some trimming.
