Those 4.5" SB mids PE has on buyout showed up today, sexy little fuckers.
I totally agree, my pair just showed up an hour ago. Can't wait to measure them in box and start designing. PE's website shows that there is only one left in stock. I wonder if I call them would they make me a killer deal on the single? Always nice to have a replacement on hand.
I think the better question is, do you like planar tweeters. They almost all have a 5k spike in distortion. You do get pretty high efficiency (94db) and good off axis behavior.
A lot of the guys here have experience with this tweeter. I liked it every time I heard it.
I used it in my Agendas project and I'm pretty sure Ben used it in his Attitudes. Both of us used a dome mid (he used a NLA Tang Band dome and I used the CAM558). It has a very large face plate, 120 mm, and absolutely must be crossed no lower than 4.5 kHz. Otherwise I thought it sounded great. Bells, whistles, cymbals all sound very real.

Anyone score anything in the Salk auction? Prices got higher than I expected
No, I bid the lot of tweeters and woofers up to the eventual selling price but I had determined my max ahead of time to ensure I didn't get carried away. There were some nice drivers in that lot.
@Wolf said:> I ordered a set of those new spiffy Dayton AMT for my SIG180-4.
I'll be really interested in seeing the distortion measurements. I love the sound of the AST2560's and the ability to cross in the low 2K range. Unfortunitly that changed with the unannounced production changes. I hope these PE AMT's will fill the void.

Truck freight from that area to mine ain’t bad.

2hr 31min from my house. I've bid on five things, LOL.
I am a bit far and don't have a truck.

Bought a pair of these today, look pretty solid for the money
Figure they will help dress out the stand-mount I am starting on.
Craig, my 2" dome mids were Usher 9845, but I agree with everything else you said. 4.5k+ only, and that it sounds great!

Ah yeah, Ushers, that's right. I can't remember stuff as well as you can.
get em while theyre hot

I always thought this design with the ^ Beston and Faital combo was a good looking match-up.
The ribbon seems to have some distortion issues according to the author but not bad enough to be shied away from --> http://www.hificircuit.com/community/threads/argos-tm-and-mtm-bookshlf-speaker-design-thread.5640/
The Argo looks like a solid design. The tweeter is more enjoyable than the measurements imply.
I like the faital pro 5fe120 paired with with an xt25 on top and an rs225 on bottom.
Did anyone score anything at the Salk auction?

Nope, that's ok. Bids went pretty high.
Yeah, prices got higher than I thought they would.
One more GRS 15SSW-4HE Open Box $64 :https://www.parts-express.com/RESTOCKED-GRS-15SSW-4HE-15-High-Excursion-Super-Subwoofer-4-Ohm-88-292-822?quantity=1
Steal at that price. I just bought a couple OEM Infinity CMMD 8" drivers last night or I'd jump on this just to have a pair.
Monoprice:
Yay! Another LED light on sale
I think ol' Stahl must have bought several containers of lights and other cheap tools.
Thanks to that sale I ordered a couple PM180s to add to the pile. I thought maybe could use with the beastmodes and MCM 55-5670.
I'd be interested in that build.
I ordered a set of those new spiffy Dayton AMT for my SIG180-4.
