I’ve been wanting to play around with those little tectonic bmr drivers for awhile. The 2” are $7.98 ea. at PE, down to $6.70 quantity 4 or more. With the THANKS24 15% code, $5.70 each. So I got 14 and a few other odds and ends toget free shipping.

I have 8 of those on Christmas list. Hoping to do something like John H brought to Ankeny this year, but with a single woofer.
The finish work John did on those baffles is just amazing! And they sounded good too. I liked them better in the original position but everyone else seemed to like them better when they were closer to the back wall.
That's probably my last open baffle mid. I was extremely disappointed at how much the room placement impacted the mids. I contemplated building an enclosure for the mids after the show. They sound good in my room at home so I'm done with these. I've learned my lesson.
None of my dabbling with open baffle have inspired me to get serious about it over closed/box designs - just lacks too much in the dynamics/loudness department.

I’ve been a fan of ~open back. Attenuates both back pressure (rebound back thru cone), and a bit of rear signal absorption. Give it a go on your design?
I'm curious what does the impedance plot look like on that speaker?
Me too ! ???
Sorry, as a iMac guy the DATS V3 is not happening with non-dos. I just work with measuring frequency sweeps - and with my eq overlay the at speaker and listening position it works great.
Generally front vs rear looks like:
edit: fyi this is a coax I employ as a mid+ in a 3way design
I ordered a pair this morning. The plan is for them to be an upgrade in my Omni/OB project. They should fit perfectly into the existing enclosures with just a slight change in port length. Thanks for pointing them out. I probably would have otherwise missed them. With the extra 15% off the pair shipped to my door was only $57.00! We spend that much on a couple of carry out pizzas 😁
Has anyone used UPS for delivery to U.S. from Solen?
I've used Canada Post in the past as the lowest cost and no brokerage fees. Since Canada Post is currently on strike, that shipping method isn't available right now, which leaves UPS as the lowest cost alternative. But based on some "warning" language on Solen's shipping page, I'm concerned that UPS may apply substantial brokerage fees that will eliminate the savings on a Deal/NoDeal purchase.
Packages valued below $800 into U.S. are exempt from any customs fees, so there is essentially no "brokering" for UPS to do, but that may not stop them from unilaterally applying arbitrary fees. I've been burned by similar FedEx fees in the past, so any direct Solen/UPS experience anyone can share would be helpful.
I can only comment on UPS from US into Canada and they seem to really hammer Canadians with brokerage fees. However, Canadians can get around them by paying the taxes directly to a customs office, thereby clearing the package themselves. With that in mind, since there should be no import taxes from Canada to US, there's nothing for them to clear and it should be brokerage free.
As already mentioned above CSS has their black friday sale going on. I wanted to give a shout out to their LD22 tweeters. They sound wonderful and are a steal at the sale price. If you need a small format dome tweeter for a small 2 way or for the top of a 3 way I don't think there is a better tweeter than them.

That would be a very nice implementation- the low sensitivity almost requires multiples. Four in a series/parallel might be around 83db? https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/driveunits/tectonic-elements-tebm35c10-4-miniature-bmr-driver/#:~:text=The TEBM35C10-4 BMR® is an audio drive unit,Elements bending-wave technology and pistonic modes of operation.
I put those in a CBT 24 unit line array a few years ago.
Never got the EQ dialed in for them.... Still in boxes lol
I hadn't seen Erin's review - thanks for the link!

For those wanting Siggy 180s...
These popped up as buyouts. Funny how the Qms is higher more like my measured results.

RPB posted it over on PETT, or I would've missed them as well.
I figured they would fit a niche somewhere. You are welcome!

I have ordered from Solen once. Don't remember the carrier, but normal shipping charge and no other fees after the fact.
CSS drivers are on sale through the 2nd.

I just got a delivery from Solen. Shipped UPS and got here to New Mexico in 3 days.
@rjj45: and no fees other than the original shipping charge from Solen?
No, no extra fees other than $98 (CA) shipping
They shipped 3 day UPS.
