I thought I'd share this, I just discovered this clip; recorded before they made it big.

Snappy and clean - excellent recording for a live jam in 1978.
The rhythm guitar and Pick Withers's drum parts really drive this along; and on reflection, the sound isn't that bad. I converted the video to a WAV file and it worked well.
This is the only version I've found which is played in this tempo; any faster and I doubt Mr Knopfler could get all the words out. Good music never ages!
Pick and Mark also did good things on Dylan's Slow Train Coming album, which I think was maybe the year after this clip?
